Rajshree is a daughter of South Asian immigrants who came to the United States in the mid 1960s. A California girl born and raised, recently and finally returned to San Francisco, she continues to write both fiction and poetry while teaching Composition and Creative Writing at California Community Colleges in the Bay Area. She studied creative writing at San Francisco State University. Two parts of her yet to be named novella, "The Monsoon" and "The Steamer," can be found in Red Wheelbarrow. Other more recent poetry can be found on her blog and at her Facebook site.

"Integrated Diversity" is something that is very important to Rajshree. She has personally experienced marginalization by both American society and Indian communities (in the US and in India), and feels very strongly about fighting for the voices of others who wouldn't otherwise be heard.

Written about Rajshree:
"There are few writer poet visionary teacher activists that i admire, that i can call colleague, friend, luminescent. Rajshree exemplifies all of those titles and qualities and wears them with dignity and eloquence." - Regie Cabico
