R. L. is a daughter of South Asian immigrants who came to the United States in the mid 1960s. She is the first on both sides of her family to be born outside of India, and the first to be born in the US. A San Francisco writer of emotive prose, poetry, fiction, and memoir, she empowers and supports others through collaboration. Her work has appeared in Red Wheelbarrow editions, Sparkle & Blink, and Matrices Origins. She's currently working on her first novel and seeking an agent.
"Integrated Diversity" is something that is very important to Rajshree. She has personally experienced marginalization by both American society and Indian communities (in the US and in India), and feels very strongly about fighting for the voices of others who wouldn't otherwise be heard.
Written about R. L.:
"There are few writer poet visionary teacher activists that i admire, that i can call colleague, friend, luminescent. R. L. exemplifies all of those titles and qualities and wears them with dignity and eloquence." - Regie Cabico
